Pioneers of the all-electric injection moulding machine
As early as in the 1990s, Sumitomo focused on the development and production of all-electric injection moulding machines, and thus undoubtedly is one of the market and technology leaders today. The synergy arising from the integration of the Demag organisation in the Sumitomo group is specifically conveyed using the example of this all-electric machine. The sophisticated Japanese drive technology has been, and is consistently relayed onto the European machine platform, viz. the Demag machine, such as to result in a unique combination of mechanical engineering and pioneering high-tech drive technology. Sumitomo (SHI) Demag consistently uses these all-electric direct drives (DD) characterized by extraordinary precision and energy efficiency.
As opposed to competitors, here, the drives are developed and produced in-house. These drives are specifically geared to the requirements of the injection moulding process, without compromise.
The all-electric injection moulding machine for Europe is the IntElect model, which is based on the same machine platform as the hydraulic and hybrid machines made by Sumitom (SHI) Demag. Thus, this machine meets all the requirements that would be applicable in Europe (such as in terms of the mould weight, automation or control). The latest generation of the Japanese SE-DUZ machine tops off the range of all-electric injection moulding machines, and is also available upon request.
